Quality Assurance Business Unit 

Quality assurance on civil engineering construction works is one of our main services. With numerous experiences in hand, STS has been long considered as a "Third party" and accepted as reliable by many partners. At present, STS offers the service on Quality assurance in many field such as the following :

  • Quality Assurance on the stability of existing buildings & Infrastructure in different conditions such as

- Long term service life

- Renovation & Modification

- Change of usage function

- Etc.

  • Quality Assurance on the stability of the existing high rise buildings under earthquake or critical wind load including behaviour measurement.
  • Quality Assurance on the stability of new/existing large infrastructure such as dam protection dyke, bridge, highway, Airfield structure (runway, taxiway and apron) and container yard etc.​

  • Quality Assurance on the backfill compaction works including recommendation to improve the quality of works.

  • Stability of hill slope (existing condition, before and after adjustment) including the stability of foundation on the hill slope.
  • Quality Assurance on the stability and capacity of foundation soil/rock under large loading.
Image resistivity
  • Quality Assurance on the stability of post tension slab after long term service.
  • Quality Assurance on the structure remedial and/or strengthening works.
In addition STS also provides the service to certify the quality and stability of structural and architectural elements such as tunnel segment, large size conduit, Guardrail curtain wall, barrier, parapet, transfer beam and large cantilever beam etc. 
 
    
Full Scale Load Test 
 

STS provides the above service with the model and up-to-date survey and testing equipments such as 3D structure scan system, Falling Weight Deflectormeter(FWD), Ground Penetration radar(GPR),  Geophysic survey equipments for soil/rock foundation investigation and structure behaviour monitoring system, both static and dynamic etc.

All quality assurance services as mentioned above, not only the stability and safety of the structure but also limit the maintenance budge in the future can be ensured.
